How it works?

The AdvanTex® system treats the effluent using a packed-bed media filter. This passive, reliable process requires minimal energy to trickle effluent over the media bed. The media filter, comprising of engineered textile sheets, provides more surface area than sand to enable the growth of micro-organisms. The textile sheets also give more open space for the movement of oxygen. The treatment pods are modular and can be installed to match stages of construction.

The AdvanTex® treatment systems consistently produce high quality effluent at low operational cost, even with varied flow and waste strength.

AdvanTex® AX100


A large commercial site, for example a campground or school, may consider this product’s commercial treatment pods in conjunction with new or existing septic tanks or using the new AdvanTex®AX-MAX unit.

For large residential, commercial or municipal applications requiring advanced secondary treatment, the X100 Treatment Systems is ideal. It is also the best choice for decentralized settings, including repairs, new installations and retrofits. AX100s are perfect for truck stops, subdivisions, rest areas, “fringe” development, camp grounds, hotels, RV parks, resorts, manufactured home parks, churches, schools and businesses. The Advan Tex AX-100unit is modular and can be installed in multi-pod arrays that can handle higher flows.

AX-MAX & AX-MOBILE


AdvanTex® AX-MAX

One of the latest and largest fully plumbed and modular AdvanTex® treatment units is the AX-MAX which is ideal for commercial or municipal applications.

Orenco's new AdvanTex® AX-MAX is a modular, fully plumbed treatment plant capable of handling flows from 18,000 liters per day up to 4,000,000 liters per day. It is ideal for commercial/residential developments or entire communities.

The AX-MAX is an insulated fiberglass tank. It is durable, lightweight and watertight. It can also be installed above or below ground as a single unit or a multi-tank design.

Proven Technology

The AX-Max provides the same outstanding performance as our smaller AdvanTex® textile treatment pods. AdvanTex® Treatment Systems are proven, reliable, packed bed media filter technology selected for thousands of installations worldwide. Assuming domestic strength wastewater, the same outstanding performance (cBOD5/TSS ~5mg/L) as our AX100 systems can be expected.
For nitrogen sensitive areas requiring greater than 65% nitrogen reduction, alternative configurations can be employed returning up to 90% reduction. The unit is also designed to meet strict nutrient limits or re-use standard.

AdvanTex® AX-MOBILE

The AX-Mobile provides wastewater treatment for temporary or mobile situations. It is a fully-plumbed wastewater treatment that is portable and fits perfectly for sewer need of all types and remote sanitation. It is ideal for temporary flow increases or flow diversions, work camps, marine facilities, mining, oil field, gas camps, emergency sanitation, disaster relief and military installations.

Mobility is your primary benefit as it can be installed above ground with its pre-plumbed set up and relocated easily later on. It is portable and can be shipped via an aircraft, by rail, by truck or container. It does not require an advanced operator license too. Most importantly, the AX-Mobile is energy efficient and sustainable.

Managing Effluent Sewer Systems


Remote monitoring allows efficient management of the systems. The AdvanTex®treatment system is controlled using TCOM telemetry control panels from Orenco. In many cases, the operator can diagnose the problem remotely and adjust settings to correct it.


MicroC™

What Is MicroC™?

MicroC™ premium carbon sources are manufactured wastewater treatment chemicals developed by Environmental Operating Solutions Inc. These are designed specifically for use as electron donor carbon sources for wastewater denitrification applications, necessary for wastewater treatment plants to meet stringent effluent nitrogen limits.

Why Choose MicroC™?

Methanol is currently the most widely used carbon source for wastewater denitrification. MicroC™ offers an attractive alternative to the hazardous, increasingly expensive and energy intensive methanol.

STEG and STEP

Septic Tank Effluent Gravity - Septic Tank Effluent Pump

A sustainable solution for decentralized and rural wastewater collection is an effluent sewer. Effluent sewers are cost effective and sustainable solution for rural areas and fringe development on the outskirts of communities that do not want to or are unable to expand the existing sewage system.

How it Works

In an effluent sewer system each individual site has a small, underground tank (interceptor tank) which receives all the waste from the dwelling. The raw wastewater separates into sludge, scum and liquid effluent with primary treatment taking place within the interceptor tank.

The solids remain in the tank for years with the anaerobic biological process consuming the solids over time. Most tanks will only need to be pumped out every 7 to 10 years. The liquid effluent remains in the tank for only a day or two. It is then pumped (STEP) or gravity fed (STEG) to the next treatment point. Both types of connections can exist on the same collection network.

Benefits of an Effluent Sewer

Minimal electricity cost. This is because only liquid effluent is pumped intermittently using small and energy efficient pumps (generally the PF100552 half horsepower pump is used). Reduces installation cost and impact on the environment. No expensive pumping stations are required and the water tight effluent sewer system does not require manholes. Collection lines are smaller too compared to standard sewer lines.

Minimal investment for the developer or local authority. In systems built to serve new subdivision developments, the cost of the on-lot equipment is taken care of by the homeowner. Service can begin as soon as the first home in the subdivision is connected. There is also no minimum flow required for an effluent sewer.

Minimized long term cost due to simplified design of the treatment plant. Sludge management is greatly reduced through the natural, passive, anaerobic digestion in the on-lot interceptor tanks.

Managing Effluent Sewer Systems

STEP units in individual homes can be fitted with VeriComm control panels. The VeriComm panels communicate via phone line to the system operator in order to alert any problems. If a site visit is required, the operator can arrive prepared with information about the likely cause of the problem, such as a stuck float or a leaky toilet.
